Maureen Mack -

Chairman

Maureen has been a member of High Fen for about 15 years and has been on nearly all the teams at different times. She has been lucky enough to have been to several championships for the club, most memorable being the three day event championships at Offchurch. Nowadays she mostly does dressage at all levels with her homebred horses. Mo joined the committee in 2010 and has had great fun organizing the eventer trial and one day event teams.

Louise  Goodwin -

Vice Chairman

Louise was Chairman of High Fen Riding Club from 2003 to 2012 and was a member for 2-3 years before that.

She works full time as Practice Manager at a doctor’s surgery in Colchester and in her spare time is out competing at Horse Trials, Show jumping, Dressage (if she really has to!) and Riding Club Events on Jane March’s horse Max. She has regularly competed for the High Fen RC Teams and competed at most of the BRC Championships.

Maddie Thompson - Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Secretary and Web Manager

Maddie has been a committee member since 1992,  becoming Treasurer the following year and adding the posts of secretary, and web supremo at various points since then. She used to be a dressage queen but these days she is a happy hacker with Bob the cob; as he is very much more photogenic than she is, he prefers to be shown solo!

Gloria Outten - Dressage Organiser and Team Manager: Dressage, Style Jumping, Riding Test and Combined Training

Gloria has been a High Fen member for over 30 years and a committee member for many of them. She is a B.H.S.A.I and also a list 5 Dressage judge. She has worked with horses for many years and now works at Kiln Saddlery in Colchester.

In her free time she enjoys helping people with their dressage, gardening and going racing with her partner David.

Louise Clover - Show Jumping Organiser

A committee member for 15 years, Louise organises the show jumping shows and the 2009 AGM dinner. A hugely experienced rider who has evented up to Advanced level, she regularly competes for the club in all disciplines on her homebred horses. Louise works full time and is a qualified BHSAI. In her spare time she enjoys introducing beginners to the sport and teaches at 3 local Pony Clubs, even teaching her partner Duncan to ride!

Cher East -

Training Organiser

Cher has been a High Fen member for several years and competes in all disciplines on her Oldenburgh Don Markus, aka Vinnie. They really enjoy team events and have competed in several disciplines up to National Championship level, including winning the 2010 National Championship Riding Test as members of the High Fen  team . and competing at the DTM Championships in the Pairs with Jo.

Kate Baines -

Sponsorship Manager

Kate worked as head yard girl at a large riding school/livery yard, then as an assistant to a bloodstock agent in Newmarket.

After a gap from horses due to work, she is back in the saddle with the gorgeous Mickey, a re-trained racehorse. Now retired from eventing after a leg injury, he still has a lot to give in the dressage and show-jumping arenas.

Kate organises our sponsorship and rosettes, and in her spare time is a keen BE fence judge.

Nikola Penny -

Committee Member

Nikola competes her 20 year old Appaloosa mare Akropolis at Prelim Dressage. They've been together for 7 years and have an “its the taking part, not the winning” attitude, which she says is quite handy really as Cropi likes to show off in the arena! They hope to progress to Novice by next year with the help of her instructors Paul Friday & Matthew Flowers. They still enjoy hacking and a good blast across the stubble!

Jo Tootal - Committee Member

Jo has been a member of High Fen for many years and has competed in all disciplines with her horse Seal (better known as Mars); they love team events and were part of the winning High Fen Riding Test team at the National Championships in 2010 as well as competing at the DTM Championships in the Pairs with Cher and as an individual.

Jo is a BHSAI and works as a freelance rider and instructor in the Essex area. She enjoys every spare minute with her horses Mars and Keltie.
